JOB DESCRIPTION
A strong lead Exploration and Production Operations professional with broad expertise and experience to organize and implement a sound, integrated Exploration & Production support structure.
Examples of understanding of Exploration & Production management systems and processes in upstream Oil and Gas Company.
A possible knowledge of and experience across the chain, i.e. Subsurface Engineering, Drilling, Production and Facilities Management will be an advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct responsibility for all technical and operational activities, processes, and personnel
- Supervision of production operations and all maintenance on the FPSO and the Shore Base office, including servicing activities of all equipment both onshore and offshore to ensure all work is conducted in accordance with HSE standards and best practice processes
- Ensure that robust operations procedures are developed, deployed, and maintained for all Company field operations and facilities
- Develop and manage a system that ensures the technical integrity of all company operations is in line with industry standards and practices
- Operations coordination with all managers relating to policy and operational matters concerning environmental projects, business development, engineering, HSE, accounting, budgeting, and planning
- Responsible for mentoring, training, and developing all operational personnel to maximize performance through an effective employee management system
- Actively promote company objectives and ensure adherence to all relevant codes of practice, legislative obligations, corporate governance, and company policies
- Responsible for regulatory compliance with industry guidelines and standards, state and federal regulatory agencies
- Establish close working relationships with service companies with a specific emphasis on the capabilities of Nigerian companies to maximize Local Content in Company operations
- Assist the Managing Director in the preparation of equipment-related forecasts, technical budgets, and implementation of cost management strategies
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate periodic reports to the Managing Director as required regarding operational activity, equipment usage, equipment planning, and forward scheduling
- Liaise with Head HSE and all technical personnel to minimize injury, incidents, and accidents, ensuring all incidents, injuries, and accidents are investigated and reported
- Contribute to the development of the Operations philosophy and documented requirements for implementation in the projects
- Utilize specialist skills in developing OR&A deliverables such as Operability studies and Operations Excellence
- Conduct and participate in HAZIDS, HAZOPS, Pre-Start Audits, and OR&A Reviews in support of the assurance processes
- Develop Operations Management System and other documentation to manage operations
REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in chemical or petroleum engineering or similar field
- Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Operations or other Technical discipline
- Over 10 years of experience in petroleum/oil & gas industry, preferably with FPSO background
- Strong personal commitment for HSE
- Holistic understanding of strategy from Corporate to field management
- Understanding of the Hydrocarbon life cycle from Exploration to Development to Production
- Team leader skills, experience in managing of technical groups
- Communication and negotiation skills along with proven track record in motivation, responsibility, people management, etc.
- High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to package and present information in an effective and efficient manner
- Have proven experience in the management of upstream oil and gas or process industry facilities and production operations
- Have major project delivery through the whole exploration and production project life cycle (from conceptual design through to final commissioning and handover)
- Strong understanding of mathematical, statistical and other analytical tools
- Able to coach and mentor direct reports
- Operating and Capital budgeting and their control
- Good Communication and Presentation skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision
- Very good command of English language (spoken and written)
- Good IT skills
